Two Malaysians Named Suspect in Graft Case

VIVAnews – Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named two Malaysian citizens as suspects in the case of Neneng Sri Wahyuni’s arrest. Both were held in separate places.

KPK Head, Abraham Samad, said the suspects are subject to Article 21 of Anti-Corruption (Tipikor) Law on Criminal Act of Hindering Corruption Investigation Process.  

“Two pieces of evidence will be used against them,” said Abraham during a press conference in the KPK’s building on Thursday night, in Jakarta. 

M Hasan bin Kushi and Azmi bin Muhammad Yusof are allegedly involved in the escape of the suspect of bribery case of the procurement of Solar Power Plant (PLTS) of the Manpower and Transmigration Ministry in 2008, Neneng Sri Wahyuni, in Malaysia. 

KPK spokesperson, Johan Budi, said M Hasan bin Kushi will be detained at the Jakarta Police Department while Azmi bin Muhammad Yusof will be confined in the East Jakarta Police Station.  

“They will be locked up for the first 20 days under the allegation of hindering investigation and protecting the suspect, Neneng,” he said. 

M Hasan bin Khusi, left the KPK's office at 11.42pm last night with his face covered in a white cloth and was immediately taken to the Jakarta Police Department using KPK's detainee vehicle.

Few minutes later, the other suspect, R Azmi bin Mohamad Yusof, also left the Commission’s building and was esscorted to the East Jakarta Police Station.
